Physicochemical properties:
White needle crystals. Odorles.It has no optical rotation or very slight optical rotation in distilled water. There is optical rotation in the borax solution. 1g is dissolved in about 5.5 ml of water, 83 ml of ethanol and 18 ml of glycerin having a relative density of 1.24. It is more soluble in hot water and soluble in pyridine, aniline and alkaline aqueous solution. It is insoluble in ether, aqueous solution is alkaline. The relative density (d20) is 1.52. The melting point is 166 ~ 168 ° C.
Usage:
Characterize and measure boron and bismuth. Polarographic analysis of boron. Biochemical research. Metal masking agent. The standard of the determination of hydroxyl groups by organic microanalysis. Renal function test.
