Physicochemical properties:

Colorless crystals. Slightly acetic acid odor. Extremely easy to deliquesce. Soluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in acetone. The aqueous solution is weakly acidic, and the pH of the 0.5 mol/L aqueous solution is 7.0. The relative density (d204) is 1.17. The melting point is 114 ° C. Irritating.

Usage:

Used to prepare buffers for the determination of aluminum and iron. Separating lead sulfate from other sulfates.
