Cas Number:108-88-3
Formula: C7H8
Molar Mass:92.14
EC Number:203-625-9
Physicochemical properties:
Colorless clear liquid with benzene-like odor. Strong refraction. It is miscible with ethanol, ether, acetone, chloroform, carbon disulfide and glacial acetic acid, and is very slightly soluble in water. The relative density (d204) is 0.866. The freezing point is -95 ° C. The boiling point is 0.6110.6 °C. The refractive index (n20D) is 1.4967. The flash point (closed cup) is 4.4 °C. Combustible. Vapor can form an explosive mixture with air with an explosion limit of 1.2% to 7.0% by volume. Low toxicity, half lethal dose (rat, oral) 5000mg/kg. High concentrations of gas are anesthetic. Irritating.
Usage:
Solvent. Extracting agent. Detergent for the electronics industry. The standard for thermometer calibration. Manufacture of dyes, perfumes, benzaldehydes, benzoic acids and other organic compounds.
Packing:
