Physicochemical properties:
Colorless transparent liquid with the special odor of aromatic hydrocarbons. It is a mixture of 4 to 70% of m-xylene, 15% to 25% of p-xylene and 10% to 15% of o-xylene. It is easy to flow. It is miscible with anhydrous ethanol, ether and many other organic solvents and is almost insoluble in water. The relative density is about 0.86. The boiling point is about 137 ~ 140 °C. Refractive index (n 20D) is 1.4970.
Usage:
Solvent. The water content of many organic compounds is determined. Microscope cleaner. A cleaning agent for silicon components and thermistors.
