Physicochemical properties:
Yellow powder. It is soluble in hot water and ethanol. The aqueous solution and ethanol solution are golden yellow, It is slightly soluble in cold water, propanol and ethylene glycol ether. In case of concentrated sulfuric acid, it is reddish yellow, diluted to produce a greenish yellow precipitate, and in case of concentrated nitric acid, it is a yellow amber solution.
Usage:
Chromatographic reagents. Sperm staining. Acid-base indicator, pH color change range 10.0 (yellow) ~ 12.0 (brownish yellow).
