Methyl Orange IND Grade Reagent
Cas Number:547-58-0
Formula: C14H14N3NaO3S
Molar Mass:327.34
EC Number:208-925-3
Properties:
Orange-yellow powder or scaly crystals. One part can be dissolved in 500 parts of water. It is soluble in hot water, the solution is golden yellow, and almost insoluble in ethanol. The maximum absorption wavelength is 505 nm. Poisonous.
Usage:
Acid-base indicator, pH value range of 3.1 (red) ~ 4.4 (yellow), determination of the alkalinity of most mineral acids, strong bases and water. The capacity is determined by tin (Sn 2+ makes the methyl orange fade when hot). A decolorizing indicator for strong reducing agents (Ti 3+, Cr2+) and strong oxidizing agents (chlorine, bromine). Spectrophotometric determination of chlorine, bromine and bromide ions.
Packing:
500g/25kg
