Cas Number:548-62-9
Formula: C25H30N3Cl
Molar Mass:407.98
EC Number:208-953-6
Properties:
Green with metallic luster crystals or dark green crystalline powder. A hexamethyl derivative which is a by-magenta and contains a small amount of a derivative of tetrakis-pentamethyl. 1 g can be dissolved in 10 ml of ethanol, 15 ml of glycerin, also dissolved in water and chloroform, and the aqueous solution and the ethanol solution are purple, and are hardly soluble in diethyl ether. Moderately toxic, half lethal dose (rat, oral)is 420 mg/kg. Some products are a mixture of pentamethyl and hexamethyl rose aniline.
Usage:
Acid-base indicator, pH 0.5 (green) ~ 2.0 (blue). Non-aqueous solution titration indicator. Photometric determination of arsenic, gold, boron, antimony, silicon, germanium, antimony, bismuth and antimony. Biological staining.
