Properties:
Green metallic luster crystals. It is a mixture of magenta and parafamily (PArArosAnilinE) hydrochloride or acetate. It can be decomposed above 200 °C. It is soluble in ethanol and pentanol, slightly soluble in water, the solution is red, insoluble in ether. The maximum absorption wavelength (in ethanol) is 543 nm (ε93000). Poisonous.
Usage:
This product is the strongest nuclear dye, which can stain the particles of sticky, elastic and red pigment. Nuclear staining of the central nervous system, it can be used in bacteriology to identify Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The Schiff reagent is prepared in analytical chemistry to test aldehydes. A redox indicator titrated with bromate.
